Moldovan president meets Romanian Senate President, on visit to Chisinau

Chisinau, 9 October /MOLDPRES/ - President Maia Sandu today greeted Romanian Senate President Nicolae Ciuca, on a visit to Chisinau. The discussions were focused on the quote close relations between Chisinau and Bucharest and the bilateral cooperation, developed for the benefit of both banks of the Prut river, the presidential press service has reported.      

President Maia Sandu stressed that Romania was the main commercial partner of Moldova and in the next years, more infrastructure projects will be developed, including bridges across the Prut river, for commerce, easier movement and connection to the European area.   

„Bucharest is the biggest supporter of our road to the European Union and we are grateful for this backing. We will do our utmost to join the great European family,’’ the Moldovan president said.
