Chisinau, Oct 10 /MOLDPRES/- Speaker Igor Grosu discussed with representative of the European Network of Election Monitoring Organizations (ENEMO) Dritan Taulla the challenges Moldova faces in the electoral process. The officials also exchanged views on the political and institutional developments in our country and their impact on the electoral process, the parliament's communication and public relations department has reported.
The speaker condemned the Russian Federation's interference in the presidential election campaign. "Despite aggressive and cynical influences and interferences, we are determined to continue the country's European integration. Attempts to undermine the electoral process through voter-corruption schemes, disinformation, manipulation and hybrid threats are being applied to make citizens lose trust in state institutions and to jeopardize both the people's vote and the country's European path," Grosu said.
He said that the state institutions are carefully monitoring the situation and cooperating in order not to allow undermining electoral processes in the Republic of Moldova.
ENEMO has been monitoring the elections held in the Republic of Moldova since 2016. The findings and recommendations of the election observers will be set out in the reports.
