Authorities of Romania, Moldova hold first technical meeting on construction of bridge across Prut river at Ungheni

Chisinau, 15 October /MOLDPRES/ - The state secretary at the Infrastructure and Regional Development Ministry (MIDR), Mircea Pascaluta, along with his Romanian counterpart, Irinel Ionel Scriosteanu, today met in Ungheni, where they had a first technical discussion on the construction of a bridge across the Prut river in Ungheni, Moldova – Ungheni, Romania.     

Attending the discussions were representatives of the local administration, State Administration of Roads (ASD) from Moldova, representatives of the designer, Like Consulting Ltd, as well as of the constructor, Ness Project Europe Ltd.   

The meeting’s goal was to identify the organizational moments dealing with the carrying out of the technical project. The officials paid a visit on the spot, on the bank of Prut, the place where the new bridge will be built at the level of highway. ‘’For a successful carrying out of the project, a good mobilization is necessary of all institutions involved and of the local authorities from both banks of the Prut river, so that the joint organization of the construction site is carried out as efficiently as possible,’’ Mircea Pascaluta said.   

The Ungheni – Ungheni bridge is part of the Union Highway, which connects the cities of Targu Mures-Iasi-Ungheni-Chisinau and represents the point of connection of Moldova’s road network with the network of highways of the European Union. The over value of the project is of 33 million euros and the works are scheduled to be completed in a three-year period.
