Chisinau, 15 October /MOLDPRES/ - The Nisporeni town has been endowed with modern technology and equipment for waste management. To this end, the Environment Ministry allocated 1.5 million lei for the procurement of about 1,000 dumping carts of various dimensions, as well as a special vehicle for compacting and transportation of waste.
„Starting from this month, the citizens of Nisporeni will be able to collect the waste separately – an initiative meant to contribute to the protection of the environment and to the promotion of a responsible behavior among the citizens,’’ said Environment Minister Sergiu Lazarencu, who attended the event on the delivery of the technology today.
At the same time, Lazarencu reiterated the urge to the mayors to prepare the technical projects and the documentation needed, in order to apply for financing at the National Office for the Implementation of Projects in the Environment Sector. According to the minister, a new call to this end will be launched in October.
The Nisporeni district, along with the Calarasi and Ungheni districts, is part of the Waste Management Region 5 (RMD 5), where the best results are recorded in the Solid Waste in Moldova national project.
