CEC started printing ballots to be distributed to polling stations across country in runoff election

Chisinau, Oct 26 /MOLDPRES/- Central Electoral Commission (CEC) started today the printing of ballot papers for the runoff elections of November 3, 2024, which will be distributed to polling stations open throughout Moldova.
According to the CEC, the total circulation of ballots is identical to that of the first round - more than 2,819,996 ballots. Out of these, 2,137,641 ballots are in Romanian, 676,979 in Russian, 115 in Ukrainian, 3,400 in Gagauz, 870 in Romanian and 991 in Bulgarian.
The printed ballots will be distributed to the polling stations' electoral bureaus through the district electoral councils.
The runoff elections will be held on November 3. The candidates who received the most votes in the first round will compete for the post of head of state. They are candidate of the Action and Solidarity Party Maia Sandu, who picked up 42.49% - 656,852 votes, and candidate of the Party of Socialists of the Republic of Moldova Alexandr Stoianoglo - with 25.95% - 401,215 votes.
