Superior Council of Magistracy reacted to claims by officials on delay of some cases

Chisinau, Oct 29 /MOLDPRES/- Superior Council of Magistracy (CSM) announced that it has taken note of the recent public statements by some high-ranking officials on the work of the judiciary and expresses readiness to examine each complaint on possible misconduct.
In a statement, the CSM members announce that they reaffirm the commitment to the independence and efficiency of the judiciary.
"CSM has taken note of the recent public statements made by some high-ranking officials regarding the work of the judiciary in the context of the ongoing electoral processes and files of public interest. As regards any suspicions of delays, the CSM expresses readiness to examine each complaint on possible misconduct within the limits of its legal powers," the statement reads.
CSM calls for respect for the independence of the judiciary, noting that in any rule of law, the authorities must avoid public comments that could put pressure on magistrates or compromise the image of the entire judicial system.
At a press conference yesterday, Prosecutor General Ion Muntean announced that several cases initiated on behalf of members of the former Shor Party have not yet been finalized.
