CEC explains how pupils and students to vote in run-off election

Chisinau, Oct. 30 /MOLDPRES/- Students and pupils eligible to vote, who do not have a registered domicile or temporary residence in the locality where they are studying, can vote in the runoff at any polling station open in this locality.
According to the Central Electoral Commission, young people will have to present to the members of the polling stations' electoral bureaus their identity card and their student or pupil card of the educational institution in the locality. These voters will be entered on the supplementary electoral list.
In this fall's elections, about 42,000 young people will be able to vote for the first time. There are 16 higher education institutions in the Republic of Moldova, educating around 56 thousand students.
The runoff election will take place on November 3. Current president Maia Sandu, who won 42.49% or 656,852 votes in the first round, and Socialist candidate Alexandr Stoianoglo, who won 25.95%, 401,215 votes, will battle for the post of head of state.
