Alexandr Stoianoglo says votes for ''free, stable, prosperous Moldova''

Chisinau, 3 November /MOLDPRES/ - The former Prosecutor General, candidate for the Moldovan president’s office on behalf of the Party of Socialists (PSRM) Alexandr Stoianoglo exercised his right to vote at the today’s elections. He came to the polling station with his family.
Alexandr Stoianoglo stressed that he had voted for a free, stable and prosperous Moldova. The PSRM candidate noted that he supported the country’s European integration.
„I voted for a Moldova where the people are respected, no matter the ethnic group, language spoken, religion and political visions. Moldova, which do not beg, but develops in harmony and good relations with the East and West. We have a lot of problems. If I become the country’s president, the first actions carried out will be: holding of free and democratic parliamentary elections, ensuring the country’s security, proposing a model of the country’s economic development. I urge all people to go to vote and fulfill their constitutional right to elect,’’ Alexandr Stoianoglo said.
The candidate emphasized that he was against the corrupting of voters. ‘’ I am categorically against the corruption and the rigging of the elections. The elections represent a democratic process, to which all citizens must have access. I have never participated in the purchasing of votes, neither the party which backs me at these polls takes part in the buying of votes,’’ Stoianoglo also said.
Presidential elections are held in Moldova today. Two persons fight for the office of head of state: current President Maia Sandu, who picked up 42.49 per cent of the votes in the first round of the voting or 656,852 votes and the candidate of the Party of Socialists, Alexandr Stoianoglo, who grabbed 25.95 per cent of the ballots, getting 401,215 votes.
The last presidential elections were held in Moldova in November 2020.
