Chisinau, 14 November /MOLDPRES/ - President Maia Sandu today participated in the Forum of the Alliance of the Associations of Natives from Moldova. ‘’I was happy to see again a community of extraordinary people,’’ the head of state said, the presidential press service has reported.

Maia Sandu thanked the members of the associations for having given a helping hand to the protection of democracy in Moldova. ‘’I am proud of the way you resisted united, before the pressures meant to replace the true will of the people. Together, we reconfirmed the support for our country project – to bring the European Union here, at home,’’ the head of state stressed.

President Maia Sandu noted that the passion with which the members of these associations were carrying out projects in their settlements and created bridges between the natives from home and those from abroad was a good example of cohesion and cooperation for everybody. ‘’This network of people and of associations has an ever more important role through the contribution to the modernization of villages and cities, along with the European Village programme. Only those who do not want the good for our country doubt the Diaspora’s involvement and its role in the development of the communities at home,’’  the head of state also said.

The Moldovan president specified that, for each of us, at home meant Moldova, with its villages and cities. ‘’We will everybody continue to work, beyond distances, united by the same roots and love for the country, for a better future in our country.’’
