Record number of over 15,000 people employed in Moldova since early 2024

Chisinau, 16 November /MOLDPRES/ - A number of 15,000 people have been employed by the National Employment Agency (ANOFM) since the beginning of this year.  

Labour and Social Protection Minister Alexei Buzu described the figure as fantastic.

„A fantastic result of my colleagues from the National Employment Agency – 15,000 people employed since the beginning of this year. And we do not stop here; the colleagues daily work, in order to provide the best form of social protection to our citizens,’’ Buzu said.  

According to data by ANOFM, 7,683 out of all people employed are women (52.3 per cent), 2,566  - elderly people (17 per cent), 193 - people with disabilities (1.3 per cent), 158 are Moldova’s citizens who returned from abroad (one per cent), 63 people of Romany ethnic group (0.4 per cent) and four foreign citizens.   

Most people found jobs in industry, wholesale and retail trade, as well as agriculture.  

ANOFM recommends that the people who are looking for jobs appeal to territorial subdivisions for employment, in order to benefit from support at employment. The services are for free and are available both for unemployed people and for employed ones who want to change their working place.  

In 2023, ANOFM helped 11,062 people find a job.
