Placed in a picturesque area, nearby the Old Orhei, this underground kingdom, the Cellars from Branesti, each time arouses the surprise of numerous visitors of Moldova and from abroad. The Branesti Winery is placed in an old limestone mine of over 40 years, the galleries of which stretch on 75 km. The entire construction has a depth of at least 60 metres, ensuring a constant temperature of 12-14 degrees during all the year and a level of humidity of 90-92 per cent – ideal for the wine’s ageing.
These conditions are completed by artisans who transform grapes into delicious wine. The winery has about 800 hectares on its own vineyards in a nice afforested area on slopes from Old Orhei and also nearby the villages of Romanesti and Tudora. The cellars from Branesti produce white and red wines, sparkling, dry, demi-dry and dessert wines. The collection wines, as well as wines produced according to a special technology, such as Madera, Marsala, pastoral wine, are particularly appreciated.
The winery now works on the launch of the first underground hotel from Moldova and develops a unique tourist complex, Stone Age. This will give visitors possibility to experiment life in a cave, just as it would have been in the Stone Age, with small touches of the modern age. In the underground, there is no connection to Internet or mobile telephony network, although it will also be available at the entrance into the complex.
A special place is the hall for shows with a special acoustics, where recitals of poems, concerts and other cultural events take place. A Wine Spa zone is scheduled to be opened for the delight of tourists.
The cellars from Branesti have three tasting halls, with an authentic design; one of them is just in the underground of the complex.
Most wine production of the winery is exported to China, USA, Poland, Germany, Romania, Belarus, Kazakhstan, Ukraine, the Baltic Countries, etc.
The destination of easy to be found, as it is placed in the Branesti village, Orhei district, in the immediate neighbourhood of Old Orhei (only 5 km far), 20 km far from Orhei and 50 km far from Chisinau. The hosts invite all tourists to visit the tourist complex of the Branesti Winery and create nice memories in the Stone Age.
