Chisinau, 21 November /MOLDPRES/ - The mobile social canteen, launched by the Association for the Development of the Bulgarian Community from Moldova (ARBOM), has reached also the Corten village, Taraclia district. Thus, in this settlement, populated preponderantly by ethnic Bulgarians, starting from Monday till Friday, the ARBOM team’s members provide 60 warm meals to socially vulnerable people.

“When we come to Corten and see the faces of people which express gratitude, we understand that all that we do, we do from the bottom of our hearts and that our actions are correct,’’ ARBOM director Alexandr Borimecicov said, while distributing the boxes with food.

“I live lonely and I must recognize that it is not that easy,’’ said Vasili Dermenji, who came to take the package with food. The man said that such projects should have life, as they provide hope to more people.

“There are many people like me in our settlement. Therefore, I offered as volunteer to bring packages with meal also to those who live nearby me. Among them, there are former teachers, who fall short of their pension or people with serious health problems.’’

The campaign within which ARBOM provides warm meals to elderly people or people with special needs is just as a ‘’helping hand’’ also for the social assistants, who daily take care of these people.

„I do not know exactly the people who initiated this campaign, but I am grateful to them. You do a great thing. I am over 80 years old and I thank God that I am still on my feet, in order to enjoy such things, as well as meals which you provide,’’ a beneficiary from Corten said.

“We have nine people in critical state in the records, who make no head or tail by themselves. Therefore, we are grateful to you for what you do and you honour us with such charity actions,’’ a social assistant from Corten, Galina Atanasov, said.

“What ARBOM does for the people from the settlement is a boundless assistance,’’ the Corten village mayor, Stepan Tanurcov, said.

The social campaign, in which the Association for the Development of the Bulgarian Community from Moldova, in cooperation with the Taraclia District Council, weekly provides warm meals to elderly people and with persons with special needs belonging to the Bulgarian ethnic group, was launched on 1 October this year. The initiative belongs to the president of the ARBOM Council, Plamen Milanov.
