Russian-speaking children from Gagauz autonomy of Moldova discover significance of Romanian language

Chisinau, 21 November /MOLDPRES/ - Russian-speaking children from pre-school institutions and primary schools of Moldova, especially the Autonomous Territorial Unit of Gagauzia (UTA Gagauzia), have possibility to meet writers Iulian Filip and Tudor Zanet and discover the significance of the knowledge of the Romanian language, within an original project, launched by the Interethnic Relations Agency (ARI), in partnership with the two writers and the Orator Theatre of Young Talents.
The initiative titled, We Promote the Romanian Language, is part of the national programme, Consolidation of the interethnic relations in Moldova in the context of the European integration – CRIn, and its goal is to promote the Romanian language in all pre-school education institutions and primary schools from Moldova, especially in UTA Gagauzia.
Besides the discussions with writers Iulian Filip and Tudor Zanet, the children were able to watch an educative puppet play on the subject of traffic safety titled, Attention at the Road! The play was conceived to enhance the level of children’s safety in traffic and the subject tackled contributes to the traffic education of pre-school children and pupils.
So far, seven plays have been presented in UTA Gagauzia in pre-school institutions and primary schools from the Comrat city and the villages of Congaz and Chirsova.
The national programme, Consolidation of the interethnic relations in Moldova in the context of the European integration – CRIn, is created and implemented by the Interethnic Relations Agency, in partnership with ethno-cultural organizations, with the support of Moldova’s government and central and local authorities.
The CRIn Programme sees the organization of events of informing, cultural and artistic events, aimed at promoting the intercultural dialogue under the aegis of European Union’s official motto – Unity through Diversity.
