Moldovan, Danish officials approach cooperation

Chisinau, Nov. 27 /MOLDPRES/- President Maia Sandu met with Danish Minister for European Affairs Marie Bjerre, and discussed the strengthening of bilateral relations and the support offered by Denmark to Moldova in the accession to the European Union, the presidential press service has reported.
The Head of State welcomed the recent opening of the Danish Embassy in Chisinau and thanked for the bilateral assistance, including in the areas of energy efficiency, combating disinformation, strengthening security capacities and protecting electoral processes against foreign interference.
The discussions focused on the importance of Denmark taking over the Presidency of the Council of the European Union in the second half of 2025, a crucial moment for advancing Moldova's EU accession negotiations.
At the same time, Maia Sandu thanked the Danish authorities for the constant support offered to Ukraine, emphasizing that through its resilience, Ukraine protects peace in Moldova and the region. The President reaffirmed our country's commitment to strengthen the partnership with Denmark to promote a more united and stronger Europe.
