Chisinau, 27 November /MOLDPRES/ - The government today ruled to allocate about 13 million lei for the support of the communities hit by the bad weather in the last summer.
The decision comes following a meeting of the Commission for Emergency Situations (CSE) from 16 October 2024, during which the Interior Ministry proposed to earmark a sum of 12,888,400 lei for the establishment of normality in the regions hit.
At the cabinet meeting, Interior Minister Daniella Misail-Nichitin said that the resources would be allocated from the government’s intervention fund. ‘’The project will meet the residents’ need, contributing, at the same time, to the reestablishment of the normality and safety in the regions affected, with special emphasis on the support of the vulnerable categories,’’ the interior minister said.
The road infrastructure making connection between nine settlements of the central Telenesti district was seriously hit in the wake of torrential rains with hail and strong wind. At the same time, the dwellings’ structure from the Taul village, northern Donduseni district, had significant damages: the roofs of 17 private houses and of a five-storied apartment block were damaged. Also, two education institutions from the Orhei city were affected, endangering the continuity of the educational process for pupils.
